Geno Teams up with Schools Across Connecticut to Fight Cancer

On Monday, November 17, 2008 Geno's Cancer Team and The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) announced their partnership to challenge the next generation to join in the fight against cancer.

Assembled at the press conference were elementary school children who cut their hair to make wigs for chemothereapy patients, high school field hockey players who held "Play for a Cure" games throughout the state, and middle school kids who filled shoe boxes with supplies for their peers. Newington Girls Travel Basketball teams raised over $2,000 during a "Play day" in January. -->   UCONN softball held a "Strike Out Cancer" Day on Saturday, April 26, 2009  -->  Our final event of the 2009/09 season is "Branford Plays for a Cure". A series of basketball games featuring teachers, kids, police, fire and Channel 8 staff. Entertainment provided by area youth. Connecticut Student Activities Conference

We are pleased to announce our partnership with the Connecticut Student Activities Conference. On Monday, November 17, fundraising for Geno's Cancer Team will be added to the list of approved student activities on the CIAC website with the hope that member schools, which number over 1,000, will answer the call to join all of us in the battle to end cancer.
